Stalemates Rule La Liga's Monday: Osasuna and Málaga Share the Spoils

· 2 min read

La Liga served up two draws on Monday, August 24, with neither game producing a winner and both sets of supporters left to weigh the points gained against the opportunity missed.

At El Sadar in Pamplona, Osasuna and Levante cancelled each other out in a goalless stalemate. The point keeps both sides in the hunt for early-season footing, though neither will be entirely satisfied after failing to find the net.

Down in Malaga, La Rosaleda hosted a more eventful affair as Málaga and Deportivo played out a 1–1 draw. A goal apiece meant the spoils were shared, and while both clubs will point to the positive of avoiding defeat, each will know a little more cutting edge could have swung the result in their favour.

In the broader La Liga picture, draws at this stage of the season can prove decisive by season's end. Neither Osasuna nor Málaga will want a habit of letting points slip at home, while Levante and Deportivo will take encouragement from not losing on the road.

With the campaign still in its infancy, Monday's results leave plenty of room for all four clubs to define their seasons in the weeks ahead. The next round of fixtures cannot come soon enough.
