Inter Grind Out Vital Win Over Fiorentina at San Siro
· 2 min read
Internazionale claimed a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Fiorentina at San Siro in Milano on Sunday, keeping their Serie A ambitions firmly on track with a result that will please manager and supporters alike.
The Nerazzurri showed enough quality to see off a Fiorentina side that refused to make things easy, pulling back to 2-1 and ensuring an anxious finish in front of the Milano faithful. Inter ultimately held firm to bank all three points.
For Fiorentina, the defeat is a frustrating one. They showed enough fight to suggest they can compete at this level, but ultimately left Milano with nothing, a result that will do little to ease pressure on their own campaign.
With the Serie A title race developing its usual competitive edge as the autumn schedule deepens, Inter will take genuine confidence from navigating a tricky home assignment. Three points, whatever the manner of victory, is the currency that counts at this stage of the season.
