Monza Edge Sassuolo in Serie A Thriller at U-Power Stadium

Monza made it a fruitful evening at the U-Power Stadium, seeing off Sassuolo 2-1 in a competitive Serie A encounter that delivered late drama and genuine stakes for both clubs.

The hosts edged a contest that swung back and forth, with Sassuolo pulling one back to set nerves jangling before Monza held firm to secure the win. It was the kind of result that builds belief in a squad and sends a message to rivals further up the table.

For Sassuolo, the defeat is a frustrating one. A side with genuine quality in their ranks, they will feel the game was there to be taken, yet they ultimately left Monza empty-handed and with questions to answer ahead of a demanding run of fixtures.

Monza, meanwhile, can take confidence from the manner in which they managed the closing stages. Three points at home are precious in Serie A's unforgiving mid-table scrap, and this result keeps them firmly in contention as the season begins to take shape.

With the international break looming, both clubs will have time to reflect and regroup before domestic football resumes. For Monza, the mood heading into that pause will be considerably brighter.
